COMPANY HISTORY
Urban Landscaping Ltd. was developed in 1989 by Neil Pond after he graduated from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College. The company’s first focus was on lawn installation and landscape construction projects, but it quickly grew to include property maintenance, lawn care, soil production, and a retail landscaping centre. As the company grew, so did the management staff which now includes Neil’s wife Lorna in sales and administration and Carole Anne Ahier in operations.

LNB AWARDS OF LANDSCAPE EXCELLENCE
Since 2008, Urban Landscaping has taken home a total of 11 awards in virtually every award category possible! The landscape construction award was our latest success in March 2015 for a wonderful zen-like garden and patio area for a local residential property. Urban has received industry accolades for our work in maintenance, specialty gardens, landscape lighting, residential/commercial landscaping projects, landscape design and specialty water features.
ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP AWARD
In April of 2017, Neil Pond received an “Environmental Stewardship Award” from the New Brunswick Institute of Agronomy (NBIA) for his years of work as Chair of the Environment Committee for Landscape New Brunswick (LNB) working on a pesticide reduction initiative for the Province of New Brunswick. Neil was instrumental in the development of an IPM (Integrated Pest Management) program for the landscape industry in New Brunswick as a mandatory working standard of practice in order to become a licensed IPM practitioner.

In the fall of 2013, on behalf of all the staff at Urban Landscaping Ltd, Neil and Lorna Pond were honored to receive the Excellence in Business Award from the KVCC for our commitment to innovation, and consistent delivery of quality goods and services.
LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
March 2014, Neil Pond received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Landscape NB in recognition of his leadership, passion, support, and commitment to the Landscape Horticulture Industry in New Brunswick! He has spent countless hours over the past 20 years working for the Association in many facets of its work.
